Pastor D.R. Shortridge came to the Dallas Church of God in 1975. He has served on the Church of God State Youth Board, Evangelism and Home Missions Board, and the State Council in Western North Carolina. Many have been blessed with his preaching in Revivals, Camp Meetings, Prayer Conferences and on Foreign Mission Fields. His heart is in proclaiming the truth of God’s word with a love and compassion for the lost. He has proclaimed the gospel on various local radio stations and in recent years through our website. Reaching locally, across the nation and in foreign countries allowing his inspiring messages of truth to be heard outside the four walls of the church. Over the years he has been faithful in his commitment to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ without compromise.

Pastor Dan and Karen Shortridge have been greatly used of the Lord at the Dallas Church of God. They have been instrumental in managing the many church property improvements, building a fellowship hall, new sanctuary, remodeling and converting the old church into additional Sunday school classes, adding additional parking, and a Family Life Center. Today, the church has become Host to an Annual Camp Meeting in June.

The family photo shows Pastor Dan and Karen Shortridge with their sons and daughters-in-law. Daniel and Deana, Matthew and Amy, grandchildren Jordan and Allison. Not seen in this photo are Matthew's children, daughter Adalyn and son Asher.

Their son Daniel has always been drawn to music, writing and composing many songs. Singing with the group “Adoration,” playing various musical instruments, and leading our choir "the Dallas Sanctuary Singers" in learning new music and songs.

Their son Matthew uses his many talents for the Lord, singing in the group “Adoration,” helping direct our choir, and participating in children's ministries. Matthew is a tremendous vocal artist that will bless your soul with his anointed singing.
